About Mini Vinnies
Mini Vinnies are a worldwide group for primary school children, developed by the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP). Mini Vinnies are encourage to see Christ in themselves and others through prayer, discussion and looking at social issues. Please click the links above for further information about Mini Vinnies and St Vincent de Paul.
Mini Vinnies at Holy Family are a group of eight children who meet regularly to learn more about prayer and the importance of practical works. The children are supported by Mrs Backhouse and Mrs Cole, a parent volunteer.
Each meeting starts with a prayer, a scripture reading and a discussion/reflection on the readings. The Mini Vinnies discuss how they can help others, family, friends, the local community and people in need, particularly those in developing countries.
The Work Of The Mini Vinnies
This term Holy Family Mini Vinnies are supporting Mary’s Meals and their campaign against world hunger. To feed a child for a whole school year costs £13.90 and our children would like to help provide as many meals as they can. For the remainder of this term, collection boxes are being placed in each class and we would be very grateful to receive donations of any spare change for the box. Please help our Mini Vinnies and support their appeal. See Mary’s Meals for more information.
